History
In October of 1919, Barcelona officially had its first 5 Star Grand Luxe
Hotel, the Hotel Palace. The history of the Hotel Palace
has gone hand-in-hand with the most notable events in Barcelona during the past
century, so much so that the articles have been written about it.
In a more a less direct way, the Hotel has taken part in the majority of the
great events that the City has lived through and has also welcomed renowned
celebrities who have passed through Barcelona.
As one can imagine, a list of personalities from politics, culture, the arts,
finance and industry, for instance, The Duke of Windsor, Arthur Rubenstein,
Sophia Loren, Ava Gardner, Salvador Dali, Xavier Cugat, Woody Allen, Claudia

The Hotel Palace was, for many years, the Center of social life in the
City. Until today it still is as the beginning of its opening, but now it has

Types of Rooms
- Deluxe Rooms: These are the standard rooms. All
exterior with double-glazed windows, with city view, decorative fireplace
and elegantly and charmingly decorated with beautifully upholstered walls.
- Deluxe Rooms with Roman Bath: Very singular rooms
for their unique Roman Bath made of mosaics and inspired in the old Roman
hot baths. All exterior and with city views, elegantly and charmingly
decorated with beautifully upholstered walls.
- Junior Suite: Rooms with two atmospheres, the
bedroom and a living room, separate by elegant curtains. Peaceful
rooms with view to one of the typical interior “patios” of L’Eixample
and two complete bathrooms.
- The Suites: Exquisitely decorated, the suites
provide the option of 1 or 2 bedrooms, with a completely independent and
elegant living room, which can also be used for small executive meetings.
- The Royal Suite Salvador Dalí: A 95 square
meter suite, composed of a charming living room with fireplace, and the
“royal” bedroom with a Roman Bath, inspired in the ancient Roman Terms.

the guests choice, in the clients own language can be delivered every morning to
the Room.

Cælis Restaurant: Open
from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and closed Saturdays for lunch,
Sundays and August. Recently inaugurated, the Cælis provides high quality
Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine based on seasonal products, with author’s
own personal touch and in perfect harmony with the art of well-eating.
Diana’s Garden: Hot
and cold buffet breakfasts are served daily from 07:00 to 11:00 in this light
dining space. Ivy hangs from the walls. Ceiling fans, white street lamps and
large patio doors leading to a flower-filled courtyard with a fountain produce
an impression of being outdoors.
Dawn Petite Brasserie: Situated
next to the Scotch Bar and opened daily from 11:00 to 01:00, it
is a good option to enjoy of, delicatessen, salads, pizzas, meat, sandwiches,
desserts and even of an exquisite gourmet menu.
Hall Bar: The
tranquillity and beauty of the hall make it the ideal location for an
outstanding stay. Its glass setting inundates the large but cozy lounge with
light and its exquisite and elegant décor evoke the hotel’s splendid history.
It is opened daily from 09:00 to 23:00 and every day at 17:00 “Afternoon
Tea” is served, a full tea service in the purest English style, with a wide
selection of cakes and pastries.
Scotch
Bar: The name already tells
us, a bar in the purest English style, decorated with high quality wood and
comfortable “Chester” armchairs. A cozy and quiet corner...a classic in
Barcelona. The ideal spot for the best cocktails, mixers and dips. Open daily
from 11:00 to 02:00.
